Artfully Simple, Sustainably Focused, and Employee-Owned

Exciting news! As of December 1, 2024, Tree-Free Greetings (TFG) is officially an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This transition marks a significant milestone in our journey, reflecting our deep commitment to our employees and our belief in the power of shared ownership. We believe that spreading wealth equality amongst our employees is not only the right thing to do, but also strengthens our company by fostering a greater sense of ownership, collaboration, and shared success. As an ESOP, our employees will directly benefit from the company's growth and have a greater stake in its future.

Founded in 1999 by Steve Silverstein, with a millennial eye toward artful simplicity, sustainability, and social impact, Tree-Free Greetings quickly gained a following for its simple yet vibrantly artistic style and groundbreaking use of sustainable materials. With millions of cards sent each year, TFG saves over 3,000 mature trees, 1.5 million gallons of water, 2 million BTUs of energy, and 210,000 pounds of greenhouse gases annually. We continue to lead the industry with sustainable production right here in the USA โ€“ keeping our forests full of trees to create shade, transform carbon, and enhance the air we breathe.

Our Commitment to Sustainability:

Tree-Free Greetings dedication to the environment is woven into every aspect of our business. From our paper suppliers to our energy consumption, we strive to minimize our footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.

Carbon Neutral Paper Suppliers:

Our paper suppliers are actively working toward carbon neutrality, investing in wind energy and carbon offsets to reduce our collective impact and support the growth of renewable energy sources.

Sustainable Fiber Sourcing:
Our paper mills source environmentally sustainable fiber, with a focus on using 100% post-consumer recycled paper. We're committed to reversing the trend of paper waste in landfills. We require our suppliers to provide documentation demonstrating sound environmental practices and responsible forestry management, prioritizing FSC-certified wood pulp whenever possible.

Elemental Chlorine-Free and Process Chlorine-Free Paper:

All Tree-Free Greetings virgin fiber paper is elemental chlorine-free (ECF), and our 100% recycled paper meets the even more rigorous standards for Process Chlorine Free (PCF) coding, ensuring the most environmentally preferable type of paper.

USA Made:

We are committed to manufacturing here in the USA, guaranteeing quality and supporting American jobs. Our products are designed and printed in Keene, New Hampshire.

100% Post-Consumer Recycled Paper:

By printing our cards on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, we achieve significant annual savings in trees, water, energy, solid waste, and greenhouse gas emissions.

100% Solar Powered:

Our 200-panel photovoltaic array provides enough clean, renewable electricity to power our entire on-site operation, equivalent to the energy use of 10 average New England homes annually.

Print-on-Demand:

To further minimize waste and ensure we only produce what is needed, we utilize a print-on-demand model. This eliminates the need for excess inventory and reduces our environmental impact.

Committed to having a positive impact on the planet and each other, every day.
